A Fé Bahá'í no Egito tem um histórico de mais de um século de idade. Talvez os primeiro bahá'ís chegar no Egito foi em 1863 [1]. Bahá'u'lláh, brevemente visitou o Egito, em 1868, quando estava a caminho para a prisão em `Akká. [2] Os primeiros egípcios foram convertidos em 1896. [3] Apesar de ter sido um dos primeiros bahá'ís no mundo a formar Assembleia Espiritual Local conseguiu formar uma Assembleia Espiritual Nacional somente em 1924 com o Sudão, em uma sequência de uma mudança de regimes em que os bahá'ís perderam todos os direitos como uma comunidade religiosa organizada [4], através da Lei 263 [5] no decreto do então presidente Gamal Abdel Nasser. [6] No entanto, em 1963, ainda havia sete comunidades organizadas no Egito. [7] Em um evento recente, os bahá'ís do Egito se envolveram em uma controvérsia com a proibição do cartão de identificação egípcio para os bahá'ís a partir de 2006 [8] até 2009 [9]. Houve sérias perseguições contra bahá'ís com casas incendiadas e famílias expulsas de cidades [10].
