Guiana

A Fé Bahá'í na Guiana se iniciou com as referências na literatura Bahá'í sobre o país em 1916 ^[1], com a visita dos bahá'ís em 1927, ^[2] mas a comunidade foi fundada em 1953 na Guiana, com o início da chegada dos pioneiros coordenados dos Estados Unidos. A comunidade Bahá'í elegeu a primeira Assembleia Espiritual Local, em 1955, e uma Assembléia Espiritual Nacional em 1977. ^[3] O país tem experimentado grandes migrações ^[4] e o tamanho da comunidade Bahá'í também mudou dramaticamente. No ciclo mais recente do censo nacional de 2002 mostrou que cerca de 0,1%, os bahá'ís eram a maioria em três das suas regiões. ^[5] No entanto, até 2005, a Associação dos Arquivos de Dados Religião calcula que há 12 mil bahá'ís ^[6].
